Photographs carry messages without words. Sometimes words are incorporated into an image, but most of the time, there is an unspoken story about the subject that we internally process. The story may not be the same to each person who sees the photo. We can interpret what the image means, analyze the subject, what he or she may be thinking or feeling. We wonder, “what just happened, what is going to happen?” It takes imagination and creativity to look at something and create an unseen story based on what you see. I love it when a photographer takes a thought-provoking image by being thoughtful in the approach to taking the picture. When I want to create a thoughtful image, I think of the subject, or objects in the picture I am about to take, and dream up a story. Each of us has a story to tell and the photographs that are taken throughout our lives tell a small part of it. I would love to hear your story and what special moments you want to capture!
